With the sun high in the sky this St. Patricks Day, and Easter just around the corner, the tourist season has most certainly arrived to Sligo. After a long, cold and wet winter it is a welcome relief to see an influx of tourists to our town. Sligo never fails to delight, with miles of sandy beaches, dramatic rock out-cropping’s, and a vibrant restaurant and bar scene. It is also home to many outdoor activities, for the adventurous and the not so brave. This is proving to be a growing attraction to the area. Harnessing these natural amenities and the local enthusiasm for it, is providing employment to a growing number of Sligo locals and entrepreneurs. It also adds additional revenues and increased visitor numbers to the hotel and restaurant sector.
NWAT is delighted to announce a new partnership and bike hire service with Riverside Hotel, on Sligo’s Garvavogue River in the heart of Sligo town. Closeby to the tracks and trails of Doorly Park, a selection of brand new bikes are available to hire directly from the hotel, for a couple of hours or a full day under the expert guidance of North West Adventure Tours.
A full day bike hire is available for a family of four for just €50. Guided hikes, cycle tours and tasty treats such as Riverside Hotel picnics are available to take with you. Launching this innovative partnership were some members of Sligo Chamber of Commerce who were treated to an early preview of the brand new bikes when they cycled to Riverside Hotel for the recent chamber lunch. At the launch, Joe Grogan, Riverside Hotel Manager said; “We are very lucky to have such wonderful outdoor amenities on our doorstep, and fantastic providers to work with. I think this partnership will help us to grow visitor numbers and spend to the hotel and the area, and its a fun easy way for locals to get out and get active.”
